The Artist

Perspective – Color – Versatility -

LolaI am not afraid of color…..

But it [color] still remains a mystery to me. Vibrancy, based on bold and daring hues are what my paintings are about.

Giving still-life breath through color is something I aspire to do with every piece.

Perspective

Wanderlust is a huge part of my life.

Sharing different perspectives of places we’ve all been is also a passion and style of mine. Looking up at a lamp on Quay St in Auckland or looking down at Marienplatz from St Peters in Munich are a few unique angles I look for.

Color

Exuberant colors demand your attention. They scream because they want to be seen. They want to be noticed.

Howard Behrens inspires me because of what he does with just a palette knife, and the fun he has with colors a lot of artists wouldn’t dare touch. I am drawn to oils and oil pastels because they provide that opaque, rich, and layered depth that allow me to communicate my personality on canvas.

Versatility

Each piece reflects my personality. A personality filled with optimistic bubbles of vivacity and versatility. Even the gloomiest of paintings have flickers of light that signify the hope that is to come.

The light that is to come…

Van Gogh inspires me because his paintings are truly versatile. Beneath each of his pieces lie a certain sense of urgency and reckless abandon that greatly appeal to me.

My passion for travel is my current muse. I was born and raised in Nigeria; this fact, an undertone in the bold, tropical colors I gravitate towards.

I am not a trained artist.

I am an artist because I am.
